What FILE SIZE & TYPE do you accept?

Since digital files are not technically uploaded to CommunityProducers.com, there are really no specific File Size or Type requirements. The real question to be asked is "What file types & sizes are accepted by my third party video sharing website?"

Internet Archive for example, will allow you to upload a file up to 1 Gigabyte (GB) in size. At the risk of getting too technical, here are a few helpful references:

  • one hour of standard definition TV video at 2.2 Mbit/sec is approximately 1 GB
  • seven minutes of high definition TV video at 19.39 Mbit/sec is approximately 1 GB

The server at Internet Archive will accept most video file types. Some of these include: MPEG 1,2, and 4, Real Media/Windows Media, DV, Flv, Quicktime, DivX

Other video sharing websites have their own requirements. Click here for a list of other video sharing websites you can use.

Impressions

"This is BY FAR the best PEG sharing site I've ever seen. I really appreciate the efforts that were put into this. I'm sure my producers will be able to populate the site."
